What it is
Prospect is the upstream cousin of Forge. Five scouts hunt for tool ideas across distinct signal sources: search demand (Query Hunter), recurring prospect pain (Pain Listener), beatable competitor tools (Competitor Eye), un-productized internal IP (Asset Miner), and funnel gaps (Funnel Engineer). Each pitches specific named tools, not themes, not 'you could explore', with a one-line description, the signal source they came from, and the distinguishing element that makes it not a clone.
The synthesis ranks the candidates, names the single best one to take to /forge first, and kills the duplicates. Run prospect when you don't have a specific idea yet but want the team to surface 3-5 worth weighing. Run forge on the winners. The two skills are calibrated to hand off cleanly: prospect generates, forge pressure-tests.
